digital art

adobe illustrator & procreate

intro

Most of my digital art adventures happened during university classes, or, you know, just for fun doodles for friends (because why not?). I’m basically a self-taught artist, thanks to the countless hours of doodling in school notebooks. These projects also led me to become besties with cool programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, and Procreate.

ALIEN FROG MONK

For the first uni assignment I created a 2D original character with vectors using Adobe Illustrator – because laptop and mouse, keeping it simple.

Went all out on the design – a spiritualistic, four-handed alien frog monk. Opted for a cool, minimalist color palette, however only after a while had realized that a perfect pop accent color was missing to give it that extra oomph for the illustration.

FISH LEVIATHAN

Diving into my second uni project, I decided to tackle Adobe Photoshop for the first time. Wanted to invoke a fantasy world, Subnautica-inspired, unknowingness of the depths of the sea thematic in a poster.

Even though Photoshop’s tools were a bit of a mystery, I’m surprisingly happy with how the ‘Fish Leviathan’ poster turned out! Learning as I go, and enjoying the journey!

THE LITTLE CIRCUS WONDER

Lastly, my big exam challenge for this uni class was creating a 1-minute long 2D animation. It was also my first dive into Adobe Animate – a rocky ride, to say the least. The program crashed, ideas shifted, and there was an unexpected all-nighter thrown into the mix.

Nothing seemed to go smoothly, but hey, the end result? Surprisingly good, if you ask me! Any guesses on the game behind the voices that I’ve used in the animation?

FRIENDLY GIFT

Occasionally, I whip up adorable chibi-style doodles as birthday gifts for friends! Each drawing is a cute mix of elements that reflect them – whether it’s their favorite clothes, activities, food, or even a nod to their beloved League of Legends character!
